Question: Can you play nintendo game cub games on the nintendo wii?

Yes, all Gamecube games are playable on the Wii. It is completely backwards-compatible. However, a GameCube controller is needed.

You can, but you need to have a game cube controller that hooks in on top of the wii

To play Gamecube Games on your Wii, you'll need the following... 1) A Gamecube Game 2) A Gamecube / Wavebird Controller (Note: Wavebird fits into the wireless gameplay motif) 3) A Gamecube memory card to save game data Please be aware that all non-Gamecube components will be disabled once you start the Gamecube game, so you'll have to hit the power button on your Wii ( & NOT the Wiimote) to turn your Wii off (so you can return to the Wii Menu).

Yes. But like the first two answerers said a game cube controller is needed.
